Man Arrested in Car Theft and Robbery

An 18 year old Penticton man appeared in court Monday in connection with a robbery and carjacking last week. RCMP says Kevin Wiens called police on Friday night, high on drugs, and told police he was being shot at. Mounties determined no one was shooting at him. After an investigation, officers located the stolen vehicle a few kilometers away and arrested Wiens. The suspect was supposed to be serving a weekend sentence at the Penticton Detachment, and is well known to police. Wiens faces charges of being Unlawfully at Large, and two counts of Robbery with a knife.
