A man sentenced to 25 years in prison for the  May 2000 murder of his girlfriend in Vernon has lost his bid for an appeal.

Don Joseph Falkner attempted to contest the weight of evidence given from a bloodstain expert in his 2003 trial.

The BC Appeals court denied the submission on the grounds the jury had already taken it into consideration in their guilty verdict.

The body of victim Karen Miller has never been found and Falkner has maintained he had nothing to do with her death or the disposal of her body.

Falkner had been released on day parole in Vernon after he was convicted of killing an Alberta woman in 1990.
